DETROIT AGAIN WANTS ANN ARBOR'S MEDICAL CLINICS

Convinced that the Day of Small Medical Colleges Is Over

Some of the Detroit Doctors Advocate Presenting Detroit Medical College to the University to Get Ann Arbor's Clinics for Detroit

Detroit is again after part of the medical department of the University. For years this question has been fought over and while supposed to have been settled times without number like Banquo's ghost it will not down.

Whatever may have been the conditions in the past, there is no lack of clinical material in the hospitals at Ann Arbor now. There are all the cases here that a student can study. That is not the reason for the raising of the question now. The new state medical law with the higher requirements for the education of the medical practitioner makes the existence of the small medical colleges like those in Detroit precarious. An article in Monday's Detroit Journal even indicates that their existence is threatened this year. Starting out with the assertion, "The small medical college must go," the Journal at the end of a long article develops the scheme to move the Ann Arbor clinics as follows:
