Sutton District, Oct. 26. -- The auction held at Albert Baur's of Northfield, Tuesday, was attended by a large crowd. All of the stock sold for high prices, and it was after dark before Mr. Lovewell, the auctioneer, had finished the sale.

The Shadow social held at the home of Miss Mitchell of Northfield, Friday, evening, for the benefit of the Flintoff school, was a great success. A good time was reported by all.

About forty couple gathered at Emery Friday evening, where a dance was given by the Maccabees. The music was furnished by Shankland's orchestra of Dixboro. Everybody reported a good time, and it was in the wee sma hours of the morning before the crowd dispersed.

Milton Steffe of Northfield, has been so busy making cider for the past week that he has to run his mill day and night.

Mr. Wm. Maulbetsch of Salem, who has been working for Conrad Schmidt, of Northfield, for the past two weeks, cut his foot with an ax Wednesday morning, while scoring timber for Mr. Schmidt's new barn.

James Barry of the A. A. H. S. spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Barry of Northfield.

Rev. Father Goldrick, who has been spending the past four weeks in Mt. Clements, returned to his home in Northfield Saturday evening.

Mr. George Kempf, Jr., of Northfield, who has been bailing hay in Scio for the past two weeks, returned home Sunday.

George Maulbetsch of Northfield, purchased a horse at Baur's auction Tuesday.

Mr. Jerome Barry of Northfield, made a business trip to Jackson Friday.

Miss Allie Steffe of Northfield, spent Sunday in Ann Arbor.

Mr. Carl Prochnow of Northfield, visited friends in Ann Arbor Sunday.
