Ann Arbor Scored 17 to 0 on the Fair Grounds Saturday Morning in Well Played Game

---

Lansing High school was put out of the state championship race by Ann Arbor high school by the score of 17 to 0. This puts Ann Arbor in the finals for the Lower Peninsula championship with the winter of the Benton Harbor-Muskegon game. As the teams came on the field the game looked to be Lansing's, as their line was much heavier that Ann Arbor's. But their backs were lighter. The full-back was said to weigh only 112 pounds.

Twenty-five and twenty minute halves were played. Lansing kicked off to Wessinger who fumbled but recovered the ball. The ball was advanced to the middle of the field, where Ann Arbor was held. On the third down Wright punted, but the Lansing quarterback fumbled and Cushman of Ann Arbor fell on the ball. Wessinger went around right end for a touchdown and McCain kicked goal.

Dailey of Ann Arbor kicked off and Lansing carried the ball by line plays to Ann Arbor's 20 yard lie, where they were held. Ann Arbor went back steadily and McCain made another touchdown, and kicked goal.

After Dailey's kick-off Lansing gained steadily to the 25-yard line, where they tried a drop kick which fell short, Belknap bringing it back 20 yards. Ann Arbor lost the ball on downs and Lansing again carried the ball to the 8-yard line, but failed on their next three downs. Wright punted out of range and shortly after time was called.

In the second half Dailey kicked off and Lansing advanced to Ann Arbor's 30-yard line and lost the ball. A wrangle over a decision occured and while Lansing was yelling at the referee Ann Arbor made a play which gaineyd 30 yards. As time had not been called it was allowed. A few short gains were made ad on a fake end play McCain hit the line and, flanked by Wessinger and Whittington ran 30 yards for a touchdown. He failed to kick goal.

Dailey again kicked off and after some distance had been gained Lansing was forced to punt. The ball went out of bounds. Time was called before a play could be made.
