TAKE CARE OF THE SQUIRRELS

Ann Arbor must take care of its squirrels. Thursday, on the corner of N. University avenue and Thayer street, one frisky little fellow got under the street car and his hind legs were crushed and almost torn off. Nothing was done to put the little sufferer out of his misery, and he was seen trying to climb up a tree, his body mangled and bleeding.

Word was sent to the Humane society and Mr. Goodyear sent an officer to find it, but it had probably dragged itself off to die. Such accidents may happen, but there should be a spirit of humanity in man which will veto such butchery.
