A TIE VOTE ON PRESIDENT

THE CLENADEUM HELD HOT ELECTION

Despite Promises Members Were Not Out and a Very Close Contest Resulted

The most exciting Clenadeum meeting of the year was held last evening at the high school building, the attraction being election of officers. The hottest competition was for president, Glen Palmer and Albert Wurster running for the office. For several weeks the campaign was hotly waged and every member of the society was earnestly solicited. There are over 40 members but at 8 o'clock twenty three members and eight visitors were present. The first ballot resulted in a tie, 10 to 10. An effort was made to gain an adjournment on the ground of the absence of members at Hallowe'en parties but this was voted down and the roll was called to get the votes of those who had not voted at first. One, not voting before, voted for Palmer and he was elected 11 to 10.

There was no contest for the other offices. Mr. Olds being elected vice president, Miss Warner secretary, Miss Steeb treasurer and Mr. Ward seargeant-at-arms.
