Joe Jenkins, a colored man, was before Justice Doty Wednesday on a charge of stealing a piece of gas pipe worth thirty-three cents from the Gas company. While this was the specific charge, but at the same time it was stated that a considerable amount of the pipe has disappeared at different times. After come parleying Jenkins pleaded guilty and was given a fine of $5 and the costs amounting to $5.19 more, or in default of the payment of the same to stand committed to the county jail for not more than thirty days. He hadn't the money.
