Lem. Nixon takes in a Couple of Strangers

AND THEY DO HIM

Repay His Kindness by Robbing Him of Watch and Money - Gone to Detroit

Lemuel Nixon, who is employed by Spathelf, the north side butcher, played the part of the Good Samaritan, Sunday night, and next morning mourns the loss of a good watch and forty-eight hard earned dollars.

Nixon was strolling around for his health Sunday afternoon and met two men with whom he had a passing acquaintance and who have been around the city for several days.

After being around together for some time the men intimated that they had no place to stay for the night. Nixon, out of the goodness of his heart, offered to let them remain in his room with him rather than out in the cold and the men gratefully accepted the invitation.

Monday they rose before Nixon and left the house. When he got up he found that his watch and money had disappeared and concluded that his friends of the night had touched him. The men are supposed to have gone to Detroit.
