SOME MILK UNFIT FOR USE
-----
Result of Investigation by Board of Health
-----
THREE SAMPLES BAD
-----
And Only Two Out of Six are Pronounced Safe--Samples Will be Tested Again
-----
The Board of Health have had six samples of milk analyzed at the Hygienic Laboratory of the University. Some of these samples were taken from boarding houses and some from milk wagons in the street, and the examination has brought forth the following results:
Sample No. 1 was reported as "safe milk."
     Sample No. 2, "safe milk"
Sample No. 3 "This milk is dirty and unfit for use."
Sample No. 4 "Dirty, while it does not contain typhoid germs, is unfit for use."
Sample No. 5 "Nothing suspicious in sample"
Sample No. 6 "Unfit for use."
The people whose milk is suspicious will be privately notified and required to improve the condition of their milk or the Board of Health will have to proceed according to law. Samples from the dairies furnishing those pronounced unsafe will be examined again and other samples will be sent in. It is not thought fair to make public the names of the sellers and users of this impure milk, but if the objectionable conditions are not removed it will be necessary that this be done. People are advised not to drink milk unless they are assured of its cleanliness, its sanitation and its freedom from all bacteria.
