JUDGE KINNE LECTURED NASH
-----
Judge Kinne's talk to Asa Nash when he sentenced him Tuesday afternoon, to ten days in the county jail and fined him $100 for violation of the liquor law, was brief but caustic.
"You appeared before me but a short time ago," he said, "and I treated you and the others of your calling, who were here on the same charge, with great leniency. I informed you all very specifically at that time, however, that should you offend again in the same particular I should treat you with more harshness. I am therefore about to impose a severe sentence upon you. It is not severe after all, but it is more stringent than is customary. I have no personal feeling in the matter and I am doing as little as I can in consideration of my duty. The sentence is that you be committed to the county jail for a period of ten days and in addition pay a fine of $100."
