His Partner Pleads Innocence -- December Session of Circuit Court Will Be Short

     The circuit court convened for the December term Monday, and the docket was arranged by Judge Kinne. The jury will be in attendance tomorrow, when the following tow criminal and three civil cases will come up for settlement: Criminal--People vs. Asa Nash, violation of liquor law; People vs. Henry Edwards, larceny. Civil--Andrew Hughes vs. D., Y., A. A. & J. Ry., Homer C. Millen vs. Louis Emmer and Nellie Emmer.
     Of the criminal cases, People vs. Alexander Kniseley, assault with attempt to rape, was continued to another term; George Dickinson pleaded guilty to the charge or larceny and Ray Baker pleaded not guilty to the charge of resisting an officer.
     Henry Edwards, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of larceny of money and jewelry to the amount of $77, was a partner of George Dickinson, who was found with the stolen goods in his possession. He insists to the officers that Edwards knew nothing of the affair and in his comrade's testimony the latter will attempt to prove his innocence.
     The status of the civil cases exclusive of the three that will be heard tomorrow is: Herman Weil et. al. vs. Jacob Lutz, assumpsit, set for Dec. 14; Mary M. Renwick vs. T. L. WIilkinson et al., set for the 15th; Michigan Milling Co. vs. Towars Wayne Co., appeal, set for the 17th; those that are ready for trial--Ida E. Pratt vs. Wm. H. Bowen, appeal; Albert Mayer vs. D., Y., A. A. & J. Ry.; Elmer McCullough vs. G. H. Scharf Co.; re-appeal of Caroline Sanders, guardian, vs. Estate of Susan Dodge; Aaron Armbruster vs. Etta H. Johnson; re-appeal, Frank Riley vs. Estate of Jonas Marsh; Matthias Hauser vs. Frank Leach, trespass; Elizabeth Whitney vs. the Ann Arbor R. R.; Herman Marquardt vs. J. J. Goodyear, et al., appeal; Simon Winslow vs. Chas. Jenks; U. S. Smelting Works vs. Ypsilanti Canning Co.; appeal of Marcus Markham from the decree of the judge of probate in the Augustine H. Markham estate; Carrie VanValkenburg vs. Emma Sober, appeal; Gem City Boiler Co. vs. Warren S. Piper; Mary Miller vs. John Gillen; Wm. Ambler, administrator vs. Abbie J. Kingsley; Wm. Ambler, administrator, wv. Abbie Kingsley et al., re-appeal of Andrew Campbell Ex. of Estate of Lucy Childs; Wm. Mulholland vs. Geo. Kackenhut; re-appeal of Lizzie and Libbie Trabilcox vs. Jennie Ellis; Mary Summer vs. E. J. McLaughlin; Ella Schroeder vs. Estate of Edmund Clancy; Eberbach Hardware Co. vs. A. J. Kitson has been referred to a commission.
