THE BANK BLOCK IS COMPLETED

The remodeling of the Ann Arbor Savings Bank block is practically completed and the new and old tenants are taking possession.

Five thousand dollars have been spent upon the building, and the result is a structure that bears little resemblance to the original. The second floor is practically all new and the first and third floors are greatly changed. The third floor is used by the Masonic societies of the city, and to do honor to the new decorations they are about to put in $2,500 worth of new furniture and carpets.

The building was erected during the Civil war and was used for a number of years as a hotel.

Among the improvements are a new heating plant and an elevator, which makes it the most up-to-date office building in the city. The tenants are: Ann Arbor Savings bank; Geo. Wahr, books; Western Union Telegraph office; American Express office; Pacific Express office; Woodward Bros., restaurant; the Union Record; Cavanaugh & Wedemeyer, Frank A. Stivers, Frank E. Jones, Z. P. King, law firms; Dr. Higgins, osteopath; Dr. Howlett, dcntist, and L. D. Carr, real estate.
