PARKERS' SALOON ROBBED OF 460

CELLAR DOOR FOUND OPEN BY NIGHTWATCH

No Clue as to How Thieves Entered or Their Identity--Money Was in Secret Hiding Place

The saloon of Joe Parker, on Main street, was robbed of $60 Tuesday night, but there is no clue to the identity of the culprits.

When Nightwatchman Campion made his rounds at 1 a. m. Wednesday he found the side door and the cellar door of the saloon open, and after assuring himself that there was no one in the place he telephoned to the proprietor. Parker came at once, and soon found that $60 was missing, part having been in the cash register and part in a supposedly secret hiding place.

An investigation of the premises fails to show that any locks or fastenings to doors or windows were broken and the manner in which the thieves were able to get in, unless the cellar door was left unfastened at closing time, is a mystery.
