HOOPER INQUEST HELD WEDNESDAY

Coroner Watts held the inquest on the death of F. B. Hooper, who committed suicide at the Cook House, Dec. 17, at Martin's undertaking establishment Wednesday.

Nothing new was brought out, and the jury's verdict was the conventional one, giving the manner of the death and the time and place. Dr. A. K. Hale testified as to the nature of the wound, and said that death was instantaneous.

James Murnan, clerk at the Cook House, told of seeing Mr. Hooper in the afternoon and then next morning forcing the door of his room in company with Deputy Sheriff Gillen and finding Hooper dead in his chair.

Frank Norris, bartender at the Cook House, stated that he saw Hooper several times in the afternoon.

W. H. McIntyre said that he held a long talk with Mr. Hooper in the afternoon and that he seemed cheerful and happy, but a trifle nervous.
