THE REGENTS' AFTERNOON SESSION

At the continuation of the regents' meeting yesterday afternoon, Regents Fletcher, Lawton and Dean were appointed a committee to nominate the standing committees of the new board of regents and report at the next meeting. A vote of thanks was given to Mr. Lewis Foote, who was a former student here, for a large box of pressed plants containing 2,000 species, which he gave to the botanical department, and which were collected by him while surveying on the United States Lake Survey, thirty years ago. The contract for covering the pipes in the engineering building was awarded to Philip Carey & Co., of Detroit, for the sum of $2,400. Eight nurses were appointed to the University hospital in addition to the forty already in training.
