STRANGER BROUGHT CHILD TO VISIT GRAND PARENTS

Little Mary Nichols, the 22 months old granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Koch, of S. Fifth avenue, proved her courage and self sufficiency by making the trip from Chicago to this city Tuesday with a total strenger. Mrs. Nichols was planning to visit her parents on Christmas day and bring her daughter; but the little girl was anxious to come at once. Dr. White, of Detroit, is an old friend of the Nichols family, but he had not made the acquaintance of little Mary until a day or two ago. He heard that the little one was anxious to see her grandparents without delay, so he said: "Mary, do you want to go with me? I am going to Ann Arbor tomorrow."

The baby looked at him a moment doubtfully and then lisped an enthusiastic yes. The result was that Mr. and Mrs. Koch were made fairly speechless with surprise, for a moment, to have their tiny granddaughter brought to them at 10 o'clock last night by a total stranger.
