CLENADEUM CLOSES FOR YEAR 1903

The Clenadeum met Friday night for the last time this year, and a livelier meting never took place. First came the Clenadeum News by Miss Ellsworth, and she succeeded very well in remaining sober throughout the most critical stages. The debate then took place, "Resolved, That England would be benefited by Chamberlain's revenue scheme." The affirmative was taken by Messrs McCracken and Wright, the negative by Messrs Ward and North. Both sides put up such strenuous and convincing arguments, that one of the judges voted a tie. The other two, however, decided for the affirmative.

Next, Mr. Fowler delivered his critic's report, after which a recess took place. When the president called the business meeting to order, it was found that many had gone home, and that there were only fourteen out of necessary fifteen present, to constitute a quorum. An attempt was then made to make Janitor Stram a member, but as it required a quorum to do even that much, the matter had to be dropped, and no business could be done. A long session of parliamentary practice then ensued, which was enjoyed so much that the society did not adjourn until 10:30, to meet again in 1904.
