On or about Feb. 14 the Literary Adelphi are to give a public program, and among other attracüons will be an oration by Fred Jcffera and a recitation by Miss Nina BurUick, botb of tbc State Normal school. Miss Harrab bas been awarded $30 prize for a song for the OastalIaU, E. L. Hiller $10 for tlie poem, and J. K. Freltag the prize for tlie best cartoon. The publication expects to be out by the miiT die of February. Tlie Foley guild, the new Catholic organization, is to listen to Bishop Ireland' of Minnesota, one of the most famous of the American bishops, soon. Rev. Fr, Elliott, of New Yor'i, lias also been secnred for a lecíure. The Chroniclo haa received a letter from the managers of the l'aris Exposition, stating that it had beeu entered on their golden book as a representativo college paper, and comuiended for its excellence and enterprise. The Uoiversity Bepublic.in League Club will meet agaln next Friday ni;ht in the law lecturc room and elect offlcere. Tlie boys ought to turn out and ïnake a lively occusion of it. Arrangements for tlie great banquet at Detroit, on the evening of Feb. 21st will be made at that time. The celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Psi Upsilon fraternity at this university, which sliould have occurred last Friday night, has been postponed, one inonth on account ei the deatli of A. L. Murray, a member of the frcsliman clasa, at hi8 home in Chicago, who was a mcniber of the fraternity. The University Glee Club accompanied by its banjo annex, will give a grand concert on Fob. 8th, at Dexter, under tke auspices of the ladies of the Episcopal cburcta of that place. The boys willgive the Dexter folks something worth hearing. The club also goes to Dundee on Feb. 28th, and to E;ist Saginaw, March 14 and 15.
