Smitii, aged 98 years, the old-' est colored minister in Indiana, died on tho lOth at Jeffersonville. Mus. Susan Record, a natlveof Ohio died at the county asylum in Crawford' ville, Ind., on tho lOth, of tho grip. Shj was 110 years old, and had been au inmate of the institution since 1840. Mrs. Rachel Bist, who was at one timo General Robert E. Lee's slave, died on the llth at Kacino, Wis., aged 8' years. Dr. J. N. Si'iMN'G, of Covington, Ind., died on the llth of pneumonía, the result of influenza. Ilo had in the past few weeks treated over one hundred cases of the grip, not losing one. Christian Hf.ru, president of the Lancaster (Pa.) National Bank since 1865, dropped dead on the llth while conversing with a friend. Ho waa 80 years old and very wealthy. General John A. The 81st anniversary of tho birth of Abraham Lincoln was commomorated in many citios and towns in the United States on the 12th. Mks. Louisa Eoi.in died on the 13th at Seymour, Ind., aged 110 years.
