In the Senate on the 2ith Senator Sherman's anti-trust bilí was further discussed. Billa were introduced to pension Mary Crook. wldow of the late Qenoral Crook, at the rate of f2,000 per annura, and to establlsh an educational fund from the proceeds of public lands. ..In tho House the world's fair blll locatlng the fair In Chicago, the opening to take place May 1, 189.% and close October 30, 1883, wan passed by a vote of 203 to 4ii. Bills wero introduced for the poyment of a bounty of 1100 to soldiers and sailora of the late war who reectvod no bounty; providlng pensions for soldiers and sallors who ar dependent for support on others. The rest of the day was spont in discu9sing the bill for the admission of Wyoming into the Unioa as a Btate. Senator SnEHMAN's anti-trust bill was further dtscussed in the Senate on the ÏTth. Th House blll for the admission of Wyoming as a State was presented. The bill approprlating 135,000 for the purchase of 2,500 tents for people drlven from thelr homes by doods in th South was passod. The bill authorizing the President to appoint and retiro John C. Frcmont as a Major-Ueneral was reported f avorably . . . . I tho Senate on the 28th the greater part of the day was spent in executive sesslon dlscussIngthe Florida judicial nominations In the House Mr. Knloe, under instructlons from the committee on war claims, reported bilis embracing nearly 300 claims for storns and supplles furnlshed the United States army during the war. At the evening session twenty-flve private ponsion bilis were passed. DOMEST1C. Mabet., a llttle daughter of Philip Hose, living near South Bond, Ind., was scalded to death on tho 24 th by falling into a tub of boilinpr water, and the 8-year-old son of William Domen, of Uoshen, Ind., roet alike fate. The house of L. B. Koot at Medicine Lodge, Kan., was burned on the 25th, and his threo children perished in tho llames. Simox Simpso (colored) was taken from the jail at Marianna, Fla., on the 25th and lynched for murder. A skiff containinj; John Rickett, Louis AVilliams and Harriett Lee and her four childron, ranjrinij frora 6 to 16 years of age, all colored, was capsized on the 25th at Arkansas City, Ark., and all were drowncd except Ricketts and one child. Tuk two sons of a well-to-do farmer named Shipley, accompanied by two other boys, names unknown, were drowned on the 25th near Omaha, Neb., by the capsizing of a boat. Durixo the yoar 1889 there were 557 persons killed on Illinois railroads, and 1,706 wero injured. The net earnings last year were 82,658,738, an increase of 8244,633, and the dividends aggregated 81, 230,500. The grand jury at New York on the 25th reported that the sheriff's office was a disgrace to the city and a shame to civilization. Au attempt was made by incendiarios on tho 2.rth to burn the city of Bismarck, N. D., but the flames were discovered nd extinguisbod. Advices of the 25th say that aboui $300,000 loss was occasioned by the recent prairie fircs which swept over Rooks, Phillips and other Kansas counties. The work on the Mountain Lion silver mine near Cooke City, which had boen in progress during the winter, resulted on the 26th in the dlscovery of the greatest body of silver ore that had thus far been found in the State of Montana. Navigation on Lake Superior opened on the 26th. Throuohout Southern Indiana the wheat had on the 20th boen damaged from 15 to 20 por cent. by the recent freezing weather. The low lands of Arkansas seemed to be doomod on the 26th. Levees were continually breaking and the floods were practically boyond control. Work on the crevasse at Arkansas City had boen suspended, which meant devastation for that section. The young wife of John Weirioh, of Shipshewana, Ind., committod suicide on tho 20th on account of domestic troubles, and Mrs. Ilattio Ncrris committed suicide at La Grango, Ind., beoause she had been dosorted by hor husband.
