Monday, at the resldence of Prederick Barnes, three miles east of this villagc, near the town line occurred a most sad death of his young son, about 18 months of age. The cliild was outside the house in the back yard with other young children, and lu the same back yard was a swill barrel settled down in the groutid. While the children were at play they uncovered the barrel and the young child feil therein. The other children went into the house and informed the mother who immediately went to the rescue, but when the child was taken out it was found to be dead.
