Coi.oiiAlx) Republicana will moot in State convention at Donver on September 17. Tm; Wisconsin Proliibitionists met in State convention at Madison on the 22d and noniinated the followinjj ticket: For Oovernor, Charles Alexander; Lieutenant-Governor, V. R. Xethercutt; Seeretary of State, GeorgeC. MoKorrow; State Treasurer, Robort Fargo; Attorney-General, ï. E. Van Keuion; State Superintendent, llenry Sumner; Railroad Commissioner, J. Q. Black; Insurance Commissioncr, Andrew Peterson. The platform favors State and National prohibition, a liberal education in the English languagc, woman suffrage, and declares the trafile in liquors to bo the chitif cause of crime, insanity, pauperism, and the greatest causo of danger to American institutions. In the Eleventh Illinois district W. H. Gest (Rep.) was renominated for Congress on tho 32d, and in the Eighth Indiana district EHjah V. Brookshire was renominated by the Dcmocrats. Jímks We.vykh (colored). said tohave been the oldest man in Indianapolis, died at Marión en the 23d at the age of 107 years. R. Anderson (Farmers' Alliance); Wisconsin, First district, Stephen laville (l'ro.), Sixth, ü. W. Gates (I'ro.). Minnesota Republicans ín State convention on the 24th at St. Paul natned the following ticket: For Governor, VV. R. Merriam; Lioutenant-Governor, Senator G. S. Ives; Stato Treasurer, Joseph Uobleter; Seeretary of State, J. P. Brown; Stute Auditor. 1'. J. fcGuire; Attorney-General, Moses E. Clapp; Clerk of tho Supremo Court, Charles Holcomb. The platform favors the Australiar. ballot system, low tariffs, Blaine's reciprocity, a disability pension, and denounces trusts and intorferences with common carriers. The following persons wero nominated for Congress on the 24th: Georgia, Third district, B. F. tirady (Dem.); Fourth, B. H. Bunny (üem.); Fifth, John M. Brower (Rep.) renominated. Mississippi, Sixth disiriot, T. R. Stockdale (Dem.) renominated. Indiana, First district, J. ü Wright (Farmers).
