Christian Mack returned from his western trip last Frlday evening. W. I. Oady, cashier of the Sault Ste Marie National bank, was in lown yesterday. Mra. Carrie Tubbs, nee Cook, of Saul Ste Marie, is to spend the winter in Ann Arbor. Mrs. M. C. LeBeau lcaves Friday for Monrocvllle and other places in Ohio, to visit frlends. Wm. Chapman, of Silver Creek, N. Y., is the guest of C. B. Davison and Family of W. Hurou st. S. W. Twltchell, accompanied by bis grand duugliter, Mrs. Helen L. Osgood, are vislting at D. Cramer'a. Mr. and Mrs. Rey. J. T. Sunderland are in Grand Haven this week attending the conference of Uultarian churcbes. E. II. Robison is recovering from his severc illness, and will be about atnong his friends soon. Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Sheehan, of Ishpheming, are in the city, called here by the death of Mrs. Sheehan's sister, Miss Slatterly. Eugene K. Frueauff and wife are expected home thls week from Bethleliem, Pa. ïhey visited frlends in Philadelphia, Pa., and Washington, D. C, on their return. S. W. Beakes, of the Argus, bas gone to New York State to vlsit frlends for a few days. Mrs. Beakes, who has been east tor several weeks will accompany liim home. Rev. Dr. Studley and wife spent the Sabbath with friends in Detroit. They leave to-day for their new home In Kvunston, III., and many is the kindly wiíh tbat goes with tbem.
