A meeting of the stockholders of the Ann Arbor & YpsilantI Street Iliihviiy Co. was held last Friday and the foĆ¼owing officers were chosen: President- Janlus E. Beal, Ann Arbor. Vlce President- Henry P. Glover, YpsilantI. Secretary- Joseph T. Jacobs, Ann Arbor. Treasurer- Daniel L. Qulrk, Ypsllantl. Director- Chas. E. liisoook, J. T. Jacobs J. E. Beal, Ann Arbor; Dr. John H. Wallllng, H. l. Oiover, and D. L. Qulrlc, Ypsllanli; C. D. Haines, Buffalo, N. Y. The contract for building and equipping the road has been let for $140,000, and work wlll commence at once. The equipment wilt consist of two trains ol two cars each besides two steam motors, and an extra c:ir will be put on for local or city trattic at Ypsilanti. It is expected that the trip to Ypsl. will be made in twenty minutes and trains run every hour. Tlie rails laid will be 40 lb. steel T rails. Work was commenced this morning on the Ypsilanti end of the road witti 85 men. Mehlln. Edward Conner has been sent tojailfor ten days by Justice Poud for beiag drank. Regent VVliitman has broken groum for his fine new residencfi north and east of the old cemetery park. The supervisors yesterday re-electec Jacob II. Starks janitor of the court house witli an advance of f50 pe ycar, wliich is a worthy deed for a faith ful man. Meblin.
