Monday the stockholders represeuting the Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti Street Railway Co. and the Ann Arbor Electric St. R. R. Co. met in joint conference, and the result was the purchase of the latter by the foriner, negotiationa for which had been pending several days. Not exactly that either, but the stock of the Ann Arbor St. R'y was purchased by men favorable to the Ypsilanti road and management. The new owners will not only continue the electric system but will extend it and make it more efficiënt than it is at present. New rolling stock will be pur:hased, and open cars for the Ypsilanti uo"s summer business will be put on. The total investment in the two lines is about $300,000, nearly all of which is ïow held by partiea here and in Ypsianti. The road operates eleven miles. The enterprise should receive the corlial and hearty support of all the people of both places, which it doubtless will.
