A resident of the now famous town of Lyndon - famous for the inany great men she has furnished the county, the state and the nation - was whiling away an hour or so in a Main street restaurant, a few days since. A friend gitting near by pieked up a paper and among other headings read this one : "Gorman's Chances for the Presidency ! " In the twinkling of an eye the Lyndon man was all alive. "Phat's thot? Rade it agin! " As requested, the friend repeated, "Gorman's Chances for the Presidency." The oíd fellow sat for a moment "complately spacheless," so to speak. Tlion he bröke fort 1 1 : "Be gob, I alwaya knew that Jimmie ud' git thare. He'se the brightest man in Washtenaw county, 3res gir, in the state of Michigan! Jimmie 'uil be prisident of the United States of America, be gob, sir, and then Ireland will have home rule or he'll drown the intoire English nation in the Atlantic ocean! Hurrah for Jimmie Gorman ! Say, Pat, let's have a swate dhrop of the old cratur." And they took several drops on the strength of Gorman's chances, at the old man 's expense.
