In Memoriam

At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the "Wesleyan Guild Corporation held Feb. 27th, the following resolution was unanimously adopted : The death of Dr. Alexander Wincliell on Feb. 19, 1891i removes from this board at once itB President and one of its most valned advisers. We desire to enter upon our official records an expression of our high regard for Dr. Winchell as a scholar and scientiflc worker, and our affectiouate appreciatiou of him as a luim and a Christiau brother. His professional work 13 well known to the world. The extensive sale of his books indícate popular estímate of their valne. The honors comerred apon him by his co-biborers in the field of Geology attest their appreciatiou of his scieutific researches. It has been our privilege to knoiv liimasa fellow townsman and in the capacity of personal friend. We can therefore bear testimony if any were needed, to his noble personal qñalities and to his hninble devoted christian character. En his reinoval from our midst to the higher life we (el a si-use of jiersona! beri'iivement, and recognize that this Board has suffered au almost Irreparable loss. We desire to convoy to hls bereaved family an expression of our profound sympathy iu their saddest hour of sorrow.
