A Few Figures

City Treasurer Watts has given us the following figures in regard to taxes returned thia year as uncollectable. The total amount seems large from the fact that some of the personal taxes levied were upon people who have left the city and there is no way of collecting it: Real estáte returned $125 86 Sidewalk tax returned 15 40 Personal tax returned 499 50 Total $640 76 Real estáte rejected 47 26 Con8idering the fact that the roll is one-third larger than ever before the record is good. The difference is just about covered by the hospital bonds paid, and the widening of División street, making the ordinary expenses of the city government just about the same as last year.
