We are about to enter upon the seventh year of our industrial work. The past year has been one of prosperity, both in members and flnancially. Owing to the generosity of our f rienda, we have been able to do more for the children than ever before. Last March we were told we would have rent to pay hereafter. It was through the kindness of Mr. Cropsey that we have been permitted ;o occupy his hall so many years free of expense. It may not be generally understood, that the proceeda of the "Deestrict Skule" entertainment were, by universal consent, set aside for our future rent. We are now forced to depend upon the bounty of our friends to meet the demands of the current expenses of the school, and, from pas experience, we feel assured help wil be cheerfully given. Our merchante have been very libera with us. The teachers wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the Mission School of the Presbyterian church for a contribution of $10, and a like amount from friends in the Congregationa church, and we timidly but hopelessly suggest that if the sister churches would contribute an equal'amount eacl year, it would place the school on a flrm foundation and thereby insure for it a still higher measure of usefulness. We have one hundred naines on ou roll. The school is free to any chili who wishes to learn to sew, and we invite the mothers to visit us and bring their children. We meet every Satur day, from two to four o'clock. We have thirteen teachers who are faithful in attendance and ask our friends to come in and see for themselves, the work we are doiug.
