Strikers Destroy Property
Pittsburo, Pa.,March 3.1- Strikei-s to the nuniber ol nearly a thousand attaeked Frick's coke works at Morewood at 2 o'clock this morniug. They deslroyed some coke ovens and ra'ilway track and broke Windows in several houses. Several of the raiders were arrested and taken to Greensbunr ja.il. Riots are alao reported at Leisenring and Lei Ui and considerable ptoperty destroyed. There is great excitement thi'oughoiit the coke country and serious trouble is apprehended. The coke troubles have assumed a new phase and now threaten to develop into u war between the operators and labor orgimizations. Mr. Frick stated to-day that heretofore he liad not j taaonized labor, but in the future he i did not propose to stand idly by and see nis property destroyed. He claims the men are saHslied with the tale of wages he oĆfered, but that the labor leaders will not permit them to return to work, as tlieir positions depend upon j thesuccess of the strike. The fight ! f rom this time will be bitter.
