Theroisnodeathl Tho stars go down To riso upoa somo fairer shore; And bligfat in Heaven's jeweled crown They shine for evermore. There is no death! Tho dust we tread Shall chango bcneath the surnmer showera To golden grain or mellowed fruit. Or rainbow tiuted flowers. The granite rocks disorgatiize, And feed tho uungry moss they bear: The forest leaves drink daily life From out the viewless air. There is no death! The leaves may fat]. And flowers may fade and pass away; Thoy only wait through wintry kours The coming of the May. Thero is no death! An angel form Walka o'er tho earth with silent tread: IIo bears our best loved things away: And then we cali them "dead." He leaves our hearts all desolate; Ho plucks our fairest, sweetest flowers; Transplanted into bliss, they now Adorn immortal bowers. The birdlike voice, whose joyous tones Made glad these scènes of sin and strifa, Sing now an everlasting song Aruund the tree of Ufe. Where'er he sees a smilo too bright, Or heart too puro for taint and vice, He bears it to that world of light, To dweil in Paradise. Born unto that undying life, They leavö us but to come aprain; With joy we welcome them the sameExccpt their sin and pain. And ever near us, though unseen, The dear immortal spirits tread: For all tho boundless universe Ia life- there are no dead.
