The most prominent German-Atnerian is undoubtedly Cari Bchurs, exJnited States senator from Missouri, and secretary of the interior iu the layes administration. Mr. Schurz has ïad a stormy career. He took part in he great Germán revolutionary movement in 1848, fought in several battles, was genteneed to be shot, was lucky enough to escape and after a year'n exile in Paris and London carne to our hores.
