Forgiveness
I crave forgiveness; let white ashes cover The spark that smolders yet between ns twain; Too bitter still must ringEarth's cry of pain. Her grave mounda still must riso the wide world over. Her paths be lined with tliorns no man may flee; Ah, shame for you and me To add our sullen silenoe to Ucr needless misery. All human hearts deep down throb harmony; One vast, vast grave for all lies close before; Trembling I wake, my wayward will resign; Oh, take my outstrctched hand and let there be Now, hure, at last, between your soul and mine Peace and forgiveness- now and evermore.
