The deceosed was bewn In western New York. April 7th, 1822. RemOTlng tO Salem, in thjB county, lio vas majTied upon reaching his majoelty, to Miss McCormick, by whom lio had isix children, íour oí whom survive htm. Upon the death of his first wife die waa asain married to Mrs. .Ma.ry ITownsenid and af ter a short ic.sidcncc in Salem, tlicy took up a reeldence in Superior township, removIng trom there in 1883 to the present farm juut north of this City. By the eecond ■wife there oirc two chlldren, I-uella and William, the latter of the '92 dental elass. During his liletlme the deceasod had done much to improve property in the county, havinpf, since hi.s first residonoe in tlie county, lived apon eeventeen farms, and leavtng iiivm all mucli Improved by his peaidenee apon fchem. The funeral, held Sauii'day at the Dixboro M. E. church, was one of the largest attendcd ever held there. The services wei-e in charge of Eev. Lalng, the local preaelier, and Rev. Iinst, of this city, preachIng a highly commemled luneral Bermon. Tlie remain.s were placed to rest ín the Dlxboro church yard.
