Monday's Tribune gave the followlag account of a trip by the Wheelm-en's club, of Detroit to this city and return: "The ïirst Century run of the Detroit wheeknen took place yesterday ond was the most suceessful ever held. as tliere were 50 starters, and 88 of tliem had returned to the city bel 10 o'clock last evenlng. Tlie route was to Aun Arbnr and return by the way of Saline, jtist 100 miles over a pretty hard road. The puree at stake was a 40-cent dinner bo all bhose who. arrlved at Ana Arbor betore nooit, and a membershïp Hekel to th-e new Century club of all those who completed the return trip beíore mdniglit. There were five men who started .-u 4.10 in the morning. The iirst men to arrlve in Aan Arbor were J. II. Hoftner and .1. J. Trudell, a1 9 o'clock. and tliey were the flrst two men back in the city, arrivtog al 5.06 and 5.40 respectively. Mr. Iloffner w:is gone twelve hours and thlrty-ooe minutes [rom the city, and allowlmg three hours tor time oui of the saddje, made the 100 miles In nioe hours and thlrty-one minutes. C. H. Smlth was out twehe hours, lorty-seven minutes and allowing three hours for rest, bis time ras iiinr hours. KeviU'teen minutes.
