To the Editor of the ('ourier. Dexter, Mich., Aug. 3, 1891. The teachers attending the Institute at Dexter, adopted the following resoluïions ; We, the teachers of Washtenaw Co., laving isseuibled in the capacity of a County Teachers' Institute at Dexter,. conducted by S. T. Morris, M. J. Cavanaugh and J. L. Skinner, do adopt thefollowing resolutions : lst. That the departmental plan of constant work in the manner of academicinstruction, which involve the mutual co-operation of teachers and instructors, is conducive to more benefit than accus:omed plans of the previous instructors, is our unanimous voice. That the hearty interest of the teacher bears testimony of good work on their part and an appreciated ability and zeal on the part of the conductors. 2d. Be it resolved that we tender our most sincere thanks to the instructors Eor the interest manifested by thetn in our work and the aid they have given as. 3d. Be it resolved that the grading system of the Washtenaw count schools, as effectually introduced by Commissioner Cavanaugh, secretary 01 county board of examiners, bears ood results and is the first utep towarde union, whereby the district schools will bear the sam#relatiou to the high school as the high school to the nniversity.
