In the barn and consumed with it was 1.r:S7 busliels of wheai .: daye before, 200 els ol corn, 00 tons of hay. Tiie persomal property was insured for -. 000, matlng a loss of upwards rl.500 for Mr. Campbell. The íire carne wlthin 22 feet oi the house, but by horoic efforts :' Mr. Campbell and liis family, assisted by one of 'his neighbors, it as eaved. A staek of straw standing on the oppoaite si(!' of the street, was on Dre twice but was put out before it got onder headway. This staek was near a large basement barn wliich was Insured for $1,400. The chances were twenty to one, so the neighbors say, that a'.l the property would have had to go, bul quiek w'ork eaved iioiisc and other barn. Tilo loss is quite a serlous one for Mr. Campbell, but he consoles himself with the fact that it might have been worse. w Tlio Atlantla club, oï Ypsilantl, wout np to Dexter last Prlday to play base b.-ill witlh ïlic Nonpareil club, ol Dexber, mul likc t lic ancieni island tor wiiioh thcy were namd, thej Resides, ü was Friday!
