The Street Comtnisaioner reported on petitions referred to hino and recomoiended that a sidewalk be ordered bnilt.on the west side of übservatory street from Geddes avenue to Aim street. Tiie report was accepted and the Common Council recommended to order sidewalks built, wbich prevailed by i yea and nay vote as folio ws: Yeas- Mt'ssrs. Keech, Schub and Mclntyre. The City Clerk.stated that he had received sealed bids for the repair oí Bridge No. 2, according to the advertisement therefore. On motion ol Mr. Keeeh the bids wrere passed antil the next meeting of the Board. A . A. Meuth stated that He wouia like Bidewalk line and grade on División street at liis property. Iteferred to Mr. Mclntyreand StreetCominissioner. By Mr. Keech: Whereas, The plans and specificaI tions Lor new bridge at Hridge No. 3 havingbeen submïtted by II. O.Duerr and the same havingbeenduly inspected and Prof. M. E. Oooley. Consulting engineer, having in all thinga approved the same, therefore be it Resolved, Thai sir-Ii plans and specilicalions be and the same are liereby accepted and adopted and a bridge ordered to be constructed; tliat the City Clerk do ask for sealed tenders lor the construction of the sanie, and according to said plans; tliat he do Kive notice to bridge construction conipanies of the proposed letting on Sept. 9tli. 1891, reser ving the right to reject all bids. Which resolution prevailed by a yea and nay vote as follaws: Yeas- Messrs. Keech, Schub and Mclntyre. The Board then adjöurned. W. J. Millek, Clerk. Absent, Mr. Schuh. ïhe Street Cotnmissioner reported on petition referred to liim and recoma mended ttaat a sidewalk be ordered built on the west side of Ashley street, i'rom Madison to William streets. and he made u further report on the following sidewalks, tliat should be repaired o.r renewed, in front of Iota and premises owned by the following named persons: Mary Anu Booms, Patrlck McNally, and Alicc Brown. The report was accepted and it was reoommended that the Common Council order sidewalks built and repaired which prevailed by a yen and nay vote as follows: Yeas - Messrs. Keech aud Mclntyre The Street Commissioner's reporl was accepted and the accounts auditec and recommended to the Common Coiuicil. Mr. Keech moved that the. bill of Win. Gleaver for 812.50, f or services as janitorof the 6tb ward ejigiue hous and csre of gronnds from January lst to July lst, 1891. be certifled to the Council, and recommended allowed, which motion prevailed by a yea and nay vote as follows. Messrs. Keech and Mclntyre Mr. Keech moved that the bids for ■■.■pair of Bi idge No. 2 be opened am inspected. Garrled. The bids were found to be as folfollows: C, EI. Helber. $485; Wisuer& Rentchler, $425. Bv Mr. ECeech: Whereas, the two bids for repairs on Bridge No. 2 are liigherthan said work is worth, as estiinated by Street Comuissioner Sutherland, tnerefore be it Resolved. 'J'liat we recommend to the Council that the bids of Helber and oc Rentchler. be rejected. And we further recommend that the repairs ie made under the direction of Street ('omiiiissioner Sutherland.
