I Mayoh's ( IFFICB, October 23, 1891. f T the HoHorablt , Ou ( 'mumon Council: Cent lemen: Parsuant to the res olutlon of your honorable body pass d in Cominon Councll, October 19th, 1891, authorizinjï the appointinent by the Mayor oí an addltïonal patrolman to the regular pólice forcé of said City and the detail of said patrolman as truant offlcer: And fnrther, In pursuance of and iuconformity wlth your actlon at your special Bession of October 22nd, 1891, adoptlng the report of your Pólice Commlttee to whom my communicatiou to yon det&lUng the City Marshal as Buch truant olllcerwas referred, 1 hereby appolnt, Bubject to your conflrmatlon, Thaddeus Thompson to the regular pólice forcé of said city and detail said Thompson as Truant Offlcer, as provided by law. It being expressly nnderstood, nevertheleas, that the services of the said Thompson under and by virtue of this appointment and this detail, are to be without expense to the City of Ann Arbor. ■WILLIAM G. DOTY, Mayor. Aid. Kltson moevd that the communicatiou of the Mayor be received and ilaeed on file and the appointmcnt o( Thaddeus Thompson as Truant Officer be conlirmed, which motion prevailed as follows: Yeas- Aid. Mann. Allmendinger, Fillmore, O'Hearn, Ferguson, Hall, Kitson and President Cooley. - 8. Xays- Xone. President Cooley announced that the only other business was to meet with the Soldiers' Relief Commission lis a joint board to dispose of their report. At a session of the joint board with President Cooley in the chair Commissioners Manly and Bogardus preeented their report and recommendations, ineluding a list of soldiers and soldiers' widows entitled to aid under the provisions of the Soldiers' Relief act. Whereupon Aid. Hall oftered the following resolution: Resolved, That the report and reeomniendations of the Soldiers' Relief Commission be adopted and ordercd placed on filo, and that the list of persons therein contalned be certlfied to the City Clerk, pursuant to law. Alter diseussion of the same by Cominissioncrs Bogardus and Manly, K waa adopted by yeas and nays as folIdws: Yeas - Aid. Mann, Martin, Allmendinger, Fillmore, O'Hearn, Ferguson, Rehbei-g, Hall, Kitson, Pres. Cooley and Commissioners Bogardus and Manly- TJ. Xays- Xone. Whereupon the board sitting with Relief Commissioners adjourned. Alter which the Couaeil being called to order, Aid. Hall moved that when the Council adjourn it adjourn to meet at th enext regular stated meeting at 7 o'clock, p. m., standard time, which motion prevailed. On motion the Council adjourned.
