Occupy the large establishment located at No's 9 and 11 West Liberty Street, and 21 and 23 Secoud Street, where they are extensively engaged as nianufacturers of fine grades f carriages, tjoaches and sleighs. Tlie building occupied is a substantial three story brick, frontina; 42 feet on West Liberty streel and running 80 feet in depth, with office and salesroom on lowerfloor, painting and trimming departments on second and third floors, while woodvvork and ironing departments occtipy lower floors of saine building. In addition to the above they have án adjoininií three story brick building 36 by 170 feet, used for storage purposes and also a two story frame building 25 by 35 feet in size, used for blacksmith ing, eto. The tirni emplojr a forcé of from 25 to 35 8 kil led and experienced workmen, and utilize all necessary appliances, while their productions comprising a large and full line. of light and heavy carriages, surreys, and buggies (both open and top) also light and heavy covered phaetons and spring wagons of the best grades are turnea out in large qnantities for the supply of their numerous patrons throughout this section of the country, as well as for dealers in the trade in many towns throughou) Michigan, Ohio and other .states. Tiie spscialty of the firm, however, is in manufacturingphaetons and sjirreys. Their goods as a whole, are made of the very best grade of material and workmanship and have an excellent reputation wherever they have been introduced. The raembers of the firm controlling the above are Messrs. George Walker, Michael Grossmaiin and Ohristian Braun, who established the business of these works about twenty-four years ago. They have since enjoyed a large and growing trade in this city and coanty, while they have ander their control one of the largest and most prominent carriage mannfactories doing business in this part of the country.
