People who miss the three remaining opportunities offered this week at the Uniou Square Theater of seeing Marie Prescott in H. Eider Haggard's version of "Cleopatra" will make a serious mistake. The closing scènes of the third act betweenCleopatra and Harmachis reach es a dramatic height that has not been overstepped at any theatrical performance given in this cit}' this winter - a statement which is made with no forgetfulness ofthe recent Bernhardt season That there are many ci'udities in tliis act.ing arrangement of Haggard's story cannot be denied, but its faults are never of the glaring quality which become appurent to the body of theatergoers, and should, even in the eyes of critica, be regarded as more than atoned for by the superb climax of the third act. As Cleopatra Miss Prescott has achieved an unquestioned dramatic triumph. The recognition of genius was instantly and spontaneouslyfeltthroughout the house. - New York Advertiser, Dec. 23.
