Af ter May Ist the law office of McMurdy & Job, of Chicago, formerly U. of M. boys, will be found at 1513 Ashland block, cor. of Clark and Eandolph streets. As the TJnity Club next Monday eve., Prof. P. R. de Pont will give a talk on Delsarte, and music will be furnished by Miss Mabel Holmes and Mr. Richardsou. The decorations in University hall for the G. A. R. meetings, were very fine indeed, the handsomest, in fact, that we have ever noticed there. They denoted the hand and the eve of an artist. Messrs. Wade and Soule are to be congratulated upon ito success. Rev. John Swinburne Whedon, pastor of 37th M. E. Church, New York City, eldest son of Rev. D. D. Whedon, D. D., late editor of the Methodist Quarterly review, and formerly a professor in the Michigan University, died at Yalaha, Fla., on the 19th inst. The University Alumni of Colorado met at a banquet at the Windsor Hotel in Denver, on the ]8th inst. About one hundred and fifty were present, although the night was very stormy. President AngelĂ­ was present at their urgent invitation. Much enthusiasm was shown. M. Lefevre of the class of 1870 presided. Dr. H. B. Landon was chosen President for the coming year, Dr. John Chase, secretary, and Benjamin Safely, treasurer. The western trip of the U. of M. base ball club was one of triumph. They were only defeated once, and then by professionals who were secreted in the Notre Dame team as students. The team won the following : at Albiou 18 to 3, at University of Wisconson 7 to 4, at Beloit 13 to 1, at Illinois University 18 to 0, at the Northwestern University 14 to 4, at Olivet 15 to 0. The Notre Dame professionals and paid umpire beat the boys 6 to4, only. This is a record that the boys can treasure in their memories asa proud one.
