Office of rnE Board of Public Wobks, i Ank akbor, Mich., May 11, 18itó. f Regular meeting. 3 Board met and was callecl to order bj' Pres. Keech. Roll called. Full board present. Miuutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Air. Scliuh, to whom was referredthe matter of the employment of au engineer, submitted the following report: To the Board of Public Worls: Yoiir committee of the undersigned, to whom was referred the question of the employment of some person as City Engineer, heg leave to submit the 'ollowing report: I have had several interviews with Mr. Woodard, of the city of Ypsilanti, md the most favorable terms whicii ould be obtained irom bim was the una of five dollars per day, and to furïisli all necessary help. George F. Key has autliorized me to subrnit for your consideraron the followiHg proppsition: Ile will accept the position for one year fov the sum of sixty dollars per month salary, tliat he will devote all of his time to the duties I' such office from May lst to the flrst ay of üctober next, doiiig all ecessary work and making grade plats of the city, after AVhich time he will do and perform all necessary and needful current work for the city. Mr. Key will be here about three years and thinks in that time he will be able to make a complete grade plat of the cityïtespectfully submitted, J . F. Scuun. Mr. Mclntyre moved that the report of Mr. Schuil be accepted, and the same tra usmittedto the Council with a reeoiamendatiou that Mr. Key be employed. Yeas.- Messrs. Keech, Schuh ami Mclntyre. Mr. Keech moved that the bids for culverts on Hill and Fifth streets be opened and inspected. Which motion prevailed. MoLay _.... 3]5 M Mr. Schuh moved that the respective bids for culverts 011 Ilill and Fifth streets be transmitted to the Council With recommendation that the bid of W. G. McLay, at the sum of $315.00, for building Fifth street culvert be accepted, and the bid of Gottlob Schneider, at the sum of $335.00, for building Ilill street culvert be accepted. Which motion prevailed byayeaaud nay vote as follows : Yeas.- Messrs. Keech, Schuh and Mclntyre. Nays.- None. On motion the Board adjoumed.
