The Geológica] gocíety of the ünlvei-sit.v are endeavoring to secure, the paimting of a fine portrait of Dr. Wimchell. Tliiw painting is to be placed unrter the care of the unïversiity and widl doubtless be placed ki the Art Gallery. To form a niioleus of the fund to be spent for thdB purpose, the soeiety Ivas engriged Prof. (. Fredrrkk Wright of Oberlim, Ohiio, to deliver hls noted lecture on "Prehistorie Man," at Newberry hall, Friday evenmg, June 3rd. Prof. TVright lias spent much of hia emergiiee in the study of glacial pbemomena in tliks country as well as in Europe, and has studied i)t especially ai its bearmg upon the antiquity of man. The lecture Is to be illustrated with sterjopticam views and ea.nnot i'aU to interest all wiio attend. Dr. Wright has entertaioied large audiences in Xew York, Brooklyn. Lowell and other intellectBal centers. He ie a most fluent and interesting speaker. Tickets to the lecture are aiojv on sale and in thé hands of members oí the Greological Society. Those intei-ested in a memorial to Dr. Winchell will not only advance the beautiful custom, but aleo be most thoroughly entertained by this lecture.
