The coming to Ann Arbor on Thursday Sept. 22d, of Sell Brothers' mammioth and marvelous amusement enterprise is heralded by an international chorus of delighted compliments from millions of tonques and hundreds oí newspapers, in which 'America and Australia join in tone which echo and re-echo clear across the Pacific. Itecently returned from ite memorable six month's tour of New SoTith Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland, it comes crowned with such foreign recognltion as no other entertainment has ever obtained. The Australian press Is a unit in reoognizing that not one Of itK big promises was permltted tio go to prote-st. As an example of the impression it created in a strangO land an damong stranger cities, we learn from an extended notice in that great Australian daily, the Slelbourne Age, of the llth of January last, that "it must be proQounced a brilliant nucceas, i'or it may be. safely said that no such panorama of wonders has ever bef ore been unfolded to a Melbourne audience." Tbat "all is eo good it would be hard to piek out any particular item nvs the most worthy of praise." and that "it would take too much ispace to mention in detail all the wonderïul performances on horseback and o.n foot that were given," That the "races were feplendidly contested, and ïurnished brilliant spectaeles." Of all startling and weird performances by the only troupe of Bedouin waxrtor gymnasts, it bays: "Decldedly one of the stran;ist and most fascina t ing displays was given by the troupe of Arabs. These are led into the arena by their chiefs.and after a preliminary war dance, come surpris ing feats in the art of handling their weapons are given. Some attack each other with Arab creeses, others with BWKxrds, and whilst these latter contests were g'oing forward there were nat a few amonsst the audience who held their breath One Oi thein will take up the loní rifle that they use, and by one finger twirl it round and round at such a rate that it is almost impossiblO to teil there is In his hand; whilst another would perform the same feat with the rifle utibalanced on the back of his eïbow. Then ag-ain they are splendidly lithe, and all marvelous acrobate?, whilst their strong man can be&r 10 of them on his 6houlders, and when ho is not that he woaild run down a horse with a moderate start. One noticeable thing about these wonderful men is that the bulkitst oi them does not exceed 11 stone in -vveiijht, whilst the maJority would perhaps Bcale 8 to 9 tone. Yet they are not -only as lithO as panthers but as pmverful as bulle, and a contrast to tlie bone and brawn oï our own athletes." It shoaild he also mentioned that en'tire gieat show will be presentcd here, as it is not divided, never ■va, and never will be and in addition to the splendid feats and features whieh caused a daily antopodean craze, there will also be cxhibited here ior the first time, a magniíicent separate eollection of rarest living- Australian sa vage erêatures.
