The following article, taken irom the New York Press, tells a plëasing story: Wii.kesbakke, Pa., Sept. 22 - General Master VVorkman Powderly of the Knights of Labor and Chauncey F. Black, president of the State League of Democratie Clubs, niet at the Delaware and Hudson Railroad depot in Hyde Park this morning. Mr. Black was taking the train lor his home in York, Pa., after attending the annual couvention of the democratie clubs in Scranton. Powderly grasped the democratie statesinan warmly by tho hand and said : ''Can you teil me wherè Cleveland stands on the tariff?" Mr. Black replied: "ïhat's more than I can teil, aithough if you asked where I stood I would be áble to teil you." "I teil you wbat," said Powderly, "I don't think he knows where he stands. He is at sea. I used to admire that man, but since his meddlesome interference with the silver question I have lost confidence in him. As between the republican and democratie parties I ain a republican this time." The stand Powderly takes will créate a sensation in labor Írseles. H has always been a democrat.
