The republicana of this county met in convention at the court house Tuesday at 11 o'clock. A. F. Freeman, of Manchester, was made chainnan, and E. F. .lulmson, of Ann Arbor, seeretary. On inotion the followin coininittees were appointed by the chair : Credentials- E. F. Johnson, Ann Arbor; Capt. H. S. Boutelle. Ypsilauti; A. J. Waters, of Manchester. Permanent organization aml order of Business -Geo. H. Pond, Ann Arbor; Geo, S Wheeler, Salem; George Rawsou, BrUlgewater ; W.8. Carpenter, Ypsilauti; J. T. Jacobs, Ann Arbor. Kesolutions- John L. Hunter, Ypsilauti; J. F. LiHvrence, Ann Arbor; W. K. Childs, Ann Arbor; James Martin, Bridgewater; Win. Dansüigburgh, Augusta. The conventiou then adjourned until 2 o'clock p. m. AKTERXOON SESSIOX. Upon re-assembling the the temporay offlcers were made permanent, the different committees reported, and business was commenced. Archie W. Wilkinson of Chelsea, and George A. Damon, of Ypsilauti, were appointed as tellers. Sheriff being the first upon the list, a ballot was taken which resulted as follows : Wm. Burtless, Manchester, 1 A. P. Fergusou, Anu Arbor, 5 A H. Fillmore, Ann Arbor, 10 Frederick W. Weydemeyer, Lima, 91 Total : 107 Upon motion Mr. Weydemeyer was declared the uuanimous choice of the convention. For probate judge, a motion was made to the effect that the convention endorse the name of J. W. Babbitt on the democratie ticket. Another delégate nominated Henry D. Platt, of Pittsfleld, for the office. The ballot resulted : Henry D. Platt 96 A. F. Freemviu 7 A. J. Sawycr - 5 J. V. Babbitt i 8 Total 111 Mr. Platt was given the nomination unanimously. For county treasurer, John Keppler, of Ann Arbor town, was nominated by acclamation, and the nomination of the following followed, all being by aoclamation : County Clerk - Johu Cook, of Urania. Register oí Deeds - Carlile P. McKinstry, of Ypsilanti. Prosecuting Attorney - Artlmr J Waters, of Manchester. Circuit Court Commissioners - D. A. Pray, of Northfield, and Darwin C. Griffin, of Ypsilanti. Goroners - Wm. K. Childs, of Aun Arbor; Dr. Frank K. Owen, of Ypsilanti. County Survpyor - Jerome Allen, of Ypsilanti. The convention then adjourned, having been a live, wide awake, enthusiastic convention. The ticket nominated is without exception one of the best ever gi ven to the people of this county for their suffrage, and every man upon it, without exception, ought to be elected.
