There are persons who, not understanding the new method of voting may feel timid about attemptiug it. It is simple, and easily understood. The olJowing explanation and directions ■n;i))le republicana to vote eorrectly: wuere io i,i:t tuk ballot. All bailo irinted by the public and wben a voter gets to the polls; uu eiection inspector will hand him one ballot. This ballot must be voted whole. THE BOOTK. Having got his ballot, the voter will go into one of the booths, or closets, where he will find a desk, some rubber stamps and an ink pad. On one end of the small stamp is an + and by ing this end of the stamp flrst on the ink pad and then upon paper, it wiD mark in + upon the paper. THE BALLOT. The tickets of all parties are printed upon the ballot, side by side. The republican ticket may be known by the picture of President Harrison, and the words " republican ticket " at its head. A small square a will be found underneath the picture. IIOW TO MARK. In order that the inspectors may know which of the four tickets upon the ballot to count, the voter must mark his ticket. If he wishes to vote the "republican ticket" he should mark an + with the stamp on the small square n uuder President Harrison's picture, at the head of the ticket, thus : + I By so doing he indicates that he wants to vote the republican ticket and no other. If he should mark the heads of two tickets neither would be counted and he would lose kis vote. POLDING THE BALLOT. Upon the back of the ballot, in one corner are written the first letters of the name of one of the inspectors of election. flie ballot must be so folded that no art of the face can be seen and so as to have these letters on the outside, so that they can be seen b}' tlie inspectors, that they niay know it to be a germine ballot. This is easily done by folding the bottom of ballot to the top, repeatiug the process until it is about two inches wide, and then folding the other way. This should be done iu the booth. DEPOSITUJG THE BALLOT. After folding tlie ballot the voter goes out of the booth at the opposite sitie from wlnch he entered, and hands his ballot to the inspector of election who puts it in the box in his presente. KECAIMTULATIOX. lst. Get ballot from inspector oi' election. 2d. ïake it to the booth. 3d. Mark the a at the head of the republican ticket with au + 4th. Fold the ballot so that the letters upon the back can be seen. 5th. Give the ballot to the election inspector. TAKE NOTICK. Do not confuse the words ballot and ticket. The ballot means the paper furnished by the inspector. It contains all four tickets. The whole ballot must be voted. Ünly the ticket marked will be counted. -
