Last Friday Morning, At About 4
o'clock the barn on the place of Elam Worden, at No. 27 Thompson et., was tound to be on fire, and the timely discovery of the same by neig-hbors saved a heavy loes in that vicinlty. The barns beloning tio W. K. Childs and J. A. Herbert are next to thie one and in )a eecooid or two more they would have ia 11 g-one up in smoke. A horsie and cow were taken out of the Wwden barn 'in the nick oí time, by a coiiple of tstudents who first s'aw the fire. The fire depart.ment was called out, but Mr. H. W. Bassett and others had ■gat the fire under control before they got there. The caaise of the fire it Ia alleged, was fi-cmi throwins ashes oii a manure heap, adjoinin.ii the .barn.
