The WiOrld'a i'air souvenir eolns are "going likc hot cakes," and those who want lo set one or more of them will have to bestir thennselves or they will be too late. The desire for one of these mementoes of the Exposition eras to be almost as universal as is 1 lie interest in the E-xposition itself, and orders for them have been sent in from all parts of the United States and alo from foreign eountries. Thie souvenir half dollar, it is reported fro,m Washington, will be the most firtistic com ever issued from the mint. On the obverse side will appear the head of Oolumbus, designed from the Ijotto portrait, and surrounding it the words, "World's CoItunbian. Exposition, Chicago, 1892." On the reverse side will appear a caravel, representing Oolümlbus' flagship, and beneath it two hemispheres. Above tlie earavel will be, "UnitPd States of America," and beneath the, hemtephree, "Oolumbus Half Dollar." There is so doubt that this ooin will lic peg&rcted as the most distinctive and highest prized cheap souvenir of the World'e Pair. All of these souvenir coins, except iivc, are beLng sold at a uniform price of one dollar each. lor the iirst coin strnck oïf $10,000 lias already been oil'crcd, and various prices have bren bid lor the 400th, l,492d, l,8J2d and last coin. Desiring that these souvenirs be distributed as wldely as possible among the people, and that all, irrespective of locality, have an equal chance to obtain them, the Exposition authoiitics have sought to prevent syndicates and others from purchasing large quantities and thus "coruering" the sale. On the contra ry, they have arranged to supply banks, business houses nnd individúala in all parts of the country witli as many as tliey may desire to distribute among their patrcms, customers and friends. They require only that the orders nrast be for fifty coins, or soime multiple of fifty, and that the order be accompanied by the cash, at the ra te oí ome dollar for each coin. Notwithstandins these oonditions have been widely published, sttll a vast mimber of inquiries by letter lias been received at Exposition headquarters, askiug hyw the coins may toe obtained. The best way is to get tliem through local bumks, all of whlch are no doubt willing to accommodate in that wa.y their patros and the residents of tlie city or town in which they re doing business. If, however, tor ny reaaon it is desired to obtain thean otherwise, the proper method is to form a club of subscribers fol fifty coins, or Bonie multiple of fifty, and select some member of the club to send on the order and money and to ilistiibute the ooIbs -svhen received. Orders shooild le addressed to A. F. Seeberger, Treasurer Wocld's Coluiubian Exposition, Cliicago. It is probable that the coins will mot be ready fOT dfetributiou until some time in December. But the otdci-M are being Bent in rapidly, and will be filled in thO order oí being received. Therefore it is importaut tliat all Avho desire coins ehould put in their orders ae süot as possible.
