The aimunl meeling of the Michigan State Hortleuftural soi iety will be held In Ann Arbor De?. 26 to 28, beginning Monday evening. A variety of horticultural topics ,will l;e öiscussed and the animal election of oificers will occur. Much attention will bc pai-.l to ihe status of Michigan's fruit exhibit at th; World's Fair, and the premium list of 1he liorticultural department of the Fair will bs tor inspectlon. Professor Fairchild, assistant pathologist of the f. S. ,departmnt of agricnlture, will attend and with othcrs will prosent the stiibjeot of apple diseases, one of the most vital quiestions among pomologlets to-day. Mr. S. D. Willard of üeneva. N. T., one of the Empire state's leading fruitgrowi'is, wil teil of "The possibilities of fruitgrowinig in Michigan," with a íojiort upon some of the ik-w fruits. There will !■ an address by President Angelí and papers by Profe. Vaugihan, Spalding, and Stcrc of Mihigan l'nivi-rsi'. y, apon scienii ie phas-es of hort culture. Several gontL-mcn will make reports pon condition of orchards and horticulture in general in the several iironiinent fruit districts of the state. Sevejal others will present a symposium upon "The future of truck farming in Michigan." Besides these, there will l,e a number of papers on practical subjeets by fruitgrowers of this and other stiats, making a programme of unïeual excellence and value to all in any way interested in hortitulture. The change of date froin ths first wek to the laist week in December, was made to secure lenefit of the rediiced railway (ares of the holiday e?ason. Those attending should go to Ann Arbor on Monday, December 2G, as that is the last day tliat tickets will be good going. The people of Ann Arbor will provide free entertainment to all visitors.
